Alright here goes nothing..
It’s only been around two years since I began to like Super Junior and even back then I was a noob in kpop knowledge. Also I have had the impression that kpop idols were suckers who weren’t smart and were, ironically, not very amazing at singing; I didn’t consider dancing to be outstanding.
Then what changed my views on kpop and the music industry as a whole?
As I began to delve deeper into my budding hormonal fantasies, iow Youtubing and Wiki, my interests were directed to Super Junior’s Kyuhyun. I honestly don’t remember when or how I started liking him however one thing that had drawn me in instantly was his voice. That caramel macchiato voice of his.
It was then when I realised that people WERE talented and were extremely passionate. Ok so you say he’s not that good looking uh alright LOL but I’ll say one thing. Look at his face when he sings. The emotions that are portrayed through his subtle yet intense expressions give me the shivers. Fuck he had the voice of an angel. And I reckon those who sing well are attractive inside and out.
Regardless, the turning point for me was when I watched a video about his unfortunate car accident many years ago that occurred in 2006. I cried. If I were in that same position I would have given up my career just to stay alive. But, even after the horrible and painful events he has pulled through, his singing talent continues to blow me away.
And because babykyu has displayed a huge amount of perseverance and passion in his career I can’t do anything but forever make him my precious bias.
Kyuhyun I hope you can visit Australia sometime because I really really really want to experience the atmosphere of your wonderful singing then and there at a Super Show concert.
Happy birthday. Love you. Always.
